Thank you, Tim, for your comment. I just recently learned about his own story, and found it to be incredibly powerful. To experience broken bones and bruises constantly and to continue to have a positive outlook toward life at such a young age is an incredible testament to us all.

Thank you for your comment, Joe. My husband says the same thing – our society says “this is what you should value in a man,” which makes it difficult because men want to please women. Sounds like a catch-22 for men who put (or want to, but feel pressure) God first. But then again, that’s what attracted me to my husband 11 years ago. I truly believe that it’s up to fathers to teach daughters (as you and my husband are) what to look for when they choose men (much later on!!!). I didn’t get that, and I made SOOOO many mistakes before I met my husband.

Thank you again! I’ll take a look at Billy Graham’s TED talk.

Great post. There are a lot of problems with the attributes of men that society currently reveres; however, in my experience as a man, we will emulate those behaviors/attitudes, whatever, that we believe will make us more attractive to women. Look at what our girls are taught to value in a man…look for the six pack abs, Escalade and plenty of money and you get all the attention a man could want. I have two daughters and have tried to raise them in the knowledge that the man who fears God first is the rarity in our world. If more women were attracted to this kind of man, things would change.
A really cool speach at TED was one Billy Graham did years ago. A lot of atheist’s in the audience and he delivered.

Hi there,
I found your site only today as i’m doing a book report on women who run with the wolves. My question to you is why did you stop?

I read the whole book in 2009 after my yoga teacher told me about it. It is really one of the best books i have come across, so if you gave up i urge you to pick it up and continue your work.

These blogs may not reach everyone but even one person is enough(i noticed someone else asking about this too)

The most deepest story for me is the Handless maiden, i cried and cried but i needed it. This book has bought transformation for me, not perfectly, but i hurt much less and i even stared painting!

Renata, I’m with you. I supplement my daughter’s learning because I don’t believe she’ll get what she needs from public school education. We read every night, we talk about everything everyday, we encourage her creativity, and now I’m supplementing her math education with Singapore Math.

However, while parents should be involved with the child’s education, maybe the parent is absent, maybe the parents are working alot to make ends meet (or to get the ends close). Yet, if you have the means and the ability, by all means, as parents we can’t leave our children’s education to chance.

With this upcoming election I was just talk to a friend about how no one seems to care about kids and education. Being a parent I have made the choice to spend time teaching my son to love to read and learn new things. I think public schools will get better only when parents demand more from teachers and start teaching their kids at home. It’s amazing to me when people are shocked at how smart my son is, to me it’s simple I spend time teaching him. What are other parents doing?

You are such a great daughter… I am sorry to hear about your Daddy but I am sure that he is so proud to have you as his daughter as well. I see myself in your shoes, I am an only daughter and I too is a daddy’s girl. Although my parents are still alive and well, both of them are aging and aging has become a toll on their physical body. I just regret that because I am currently busy with my career as one of theStone Harbor NJ Real Estate Agents. I didn’t get as much time with them as I wanted to.

I`m used to talk on my cell phone while driving. I don’t know what to do with myself. I know it is very dangerous but I think that everybody starts laughing at me if I stop my car. I don’t know, it’s crazy.
