    Weekly Weight Loss Update

    By KWiz | December 18, 2006

Okay…Here is my weekly weight loss update…

I recently posted that during this joyous Christmas and New Year’s season, it was my goal to ensure that I didn’t gain any weight.  Well, I can honestly say that I’ve met that goal!  My poundage has not increased!  In my mind, that’s very good considering that during this time, there were always all kinds of treats and sweets in the teacher’s lounge.  In addition, the faculty and staff of the high school just had its end of year breakfast last Friday complete with all kinds of food I don’t normally eat for breakfast, like sausage, bacon, pastries.  Of course, fruit was nicely sprinkled about in a wonderfully appealing arrangement (actually, there were ample quantities of this wonderful, healthful option) at the end of the buffet, but by the time I arrived, I had to use another plate – which was so kindly provided for us.

What am I saying here?  I partook of almost everything (except the pastries).  The bacon and sausage were greasy, the grits were a little soupy, and I thought to myself, “I don’t eat this at home.  Why do I feel the need to do it here?”  (I was also thinking that there was enough grease on my plate to fulfill my fat consumption limit for at least a week!) I justify this behavior because I don’t eat this way for breakfast as a norm.  I deserve this “special” treat.  In reality, the “treat” was that I probably did a bit of damage to my cholesterol (how about “trick” instead of “treat” - I know, wrong holiday).  But at least I didn’t gain any weight!  How’s that for justification?!!!
